The terms on which Local Markers provides its Google Business Profile management services.
Last updated: 29 March 2026 · Local Markers, North Wales
Please read these Terms & Conditions ("Terms") carefully before using our services. By commissioning services from Local Markers, making payment, or accessing the client portal, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
1. About Us
Local Markers ("we", "us", "our") is a Google Business Profile management service based in Rhyl, North Wales. We provide GBP optimisation and ongoing management services to trade businesses and other organisations across the United Kingdom and internationally. You can contact us at hello@localmarkers.co.uk.
2. Services
We provide two core services:
GBP Setup & Optimisation (one-time) — a full audit and optimisation of your Google Business Profile against our 50-point framework, including categories, business description, services, photos, attributes, service areas, and Q&A setup. A written report of all changes made is provided on completion.
Monthly Management — ongoing Google Business Profile management, including regular Google Posts, review monitoring and replies, photo updates, profile maintenance, and a monthly performance report.
Both services are delivered entirely remotely. No site visit is required or included.
As part of the monthly management service, you will be given access to a private client portal where you can view your profile performance data, audit results, monthly reports, and activity log. Portal access is provided as part of the monthly management service and is not available as a standalone product.
The specific deliverables for each service are as described on our website at the time of purchase. We reserve the right to update our service inclusions from time to time. Any material changes will be communicated to active clients at least 30 days in advance.
3. Pricing & Payment
Our current pricing is:
- Setup & Optimisation: £299 one-time fee, payable in advance before work commences.
- Monthly Management: £149 per month, billed monthly in advance.
All prices are quoted in GBP. Prices are exclusive of VAT unless stated otherwise on your invoice.
Payment processing: All payments are processed securely via Stripe. By engaging our monthly management service, you authorise Local Markers to charge your payment method automatically each month on your billing date. You will receive an invoice by email after each successful payment.
Failed payments: If a payment fails, Stripe will automatically retry the charge. If payment remains outstanding for more than 14 days from the due date, we reserve the right to suspend your services until payment is received. We will notify you by email if a payment fails.
Reactivation: If services are suspended due to non-payment and you wish to reactivate, a new setup fee may be applicable at our discretion, particularly if significant time has elapsed or if the profile requires re-optimisation.
Price changes: We will give existing clients at least 30 days' written notice of any price increase. During this period you may cancel your monthly management without penalty.
4. Commencement of Services
Setup & Optimisation work will commence within 5 business days of receiving payment and the required access to your Google Business Profile.
Monthly Management will begin from the first calendar month following completion of the initial setup, or as otherwise agreed in writing.
5. Duration & Cancellation
The monthly management service runs on a rolling monthly basis with no minimum contract term. Either party may cancel the monthly service by giving at least 30 days' written notice by email to hello@localmarkers.co.uk.
Cancellation takes effect at the end of the 30-day notice period. Monthly management fees already invoiced for the notice period are payable and non-refundable.
Important: Cancellation must be requested by email to hello@localmarkers.co.uk. Cancelling or pausing your payment method or Stripe subscription directly does not constitute valid notice of cancellation under these Terms and does not remove your obligation to pay any outstanding amounts.
The one-time setup fee is non-refundable once work has commenced.
On cancellation:
- Your client portal access will be revoked at the end of the notice period.
- We will remove our Manager-level access from your Google Business Profile within 5 business days of the service end date, unless you request otherwise.
- Any data held in your client portal will be retained for 30 days after cancellation and then deleted, unless you request an earlier deletion.
6. Client Obligations
To enable us to deliver our services, you agree to:
- Grant us Manager-level access to your Google Business Profile promptly upon request, and maintain that access for the duration of the agreement. Manager access is required not only to edit your profile but to retrieve performance data, post content, manage reviews, and deliver all agreed services.
- Provide accurate business information (name, address, phone number, categories, services, opening hours) and notify us promptly of any changes.
- Respond to reasonable requests for information, photos, or approvals within 5 business days where required.
- Ensure your Google Business Profile and your business comply with Google's policies. We are not responsible for profile suspensions resulting from your own content, actions, or policy violations.
- Not make conflicting changes to your Google Business Profile without notifying us, as unsanctioned changes may undermine or reverse the optimisation work.
- Keep your Stripe payment details up to date to ensure uninterrupted service.
Removing our Manager access without notice, or making repeated conflicting changes to your profile, will be treated as a material breach of these Terms.
Delays caused by failure to fulfil these obligations may affect the timeline and quality of service delivery. We will not be liable for any consequent delays or underperformance.
7. Google Business Profile Access & API Usage
To deliver our services, we require Manager-level access to your Google Business Profile. By granting this access you authorise us to:
- View, edit, and update your profile information including business name, description, categories, hours, photos, services, and attributes.
- Publish and delete Google Posts on your behalf.
- Read and respond to customer reviews on your behalf.
- Access profile performance data including search impressions, clicks, calls, direction requests, and website visits via the Google Business Profile API.
Performance data retrieved via the API is stored securely in your client portal to provide you with historical performance tracking and monthly reporting. This data is not shared with third parties.
We act on your instructions and in your best interests when managing your profile. We will not make changes that we believe are contrary to Google's guidelines or your business interests. Review responses are written professionally on your behalf — you are responsible for ensuring any factual information you provide to inform those responses is accurate.
8. Client Portal
As part of the monthly management service, you will receive access to a private client portal at localmarkers.co.uk. The portal provides:
- Real-time and historical GBP performance data
- Your 50-point audit results and score
- Monthly performance reports
- A changelog of work completed on your profile
- Billing information and invoice access
- Direct messaging with the Local Markers team
Portal data accuracy: Performance data displayed in the portal is retrieved from Google's API and is subject to Google's own reporting delays and data limitations. We are not liable for inaccuracies in data returned by Google's systems.
Portal availability: We aim to keep the portal available at all times but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. Planned maintenance will be communicated in advance where possible.
Portal access: Access is personal to you and must not be shared with third parties. Portal access is revoked on cancellation of the monthly management service.
9. Google Platform Dependency
Our services are entirely dependent on the Google Business Profile platform, which is owned and operated by Google LLC. We have no control over Google's policies, algorithms, platform decisions, or API availability. We cannot guarantee that Google will not:
- Change the features, rules, or interface of Google Business Profile
- Suspend or remove a listing for reasons outside our control
- Alter how Google Maps or local search results are displayed
- Change or restrict access to the Google Business Profile API
Changes to the Google platform, including API restrictions, do not entitle you to a refund or reduced fee. We will always work with you to adapt our approach in response to platform changes.
10. Results Disclaimer
We apply industry best practices and use our expertise to improve your Google Business Profile's visibility and performance. However, we cannot guarantee specific rankings, call volumes, review counts, or business outcomes. Local search rankings are influenced by numerous factors outside our control, including competitor activity, Google algorithm updates, your business's review velocity, and geographic factors.
Any typical results described on our website are based on common client experience and are illustrative, not contractually guaranteed.
11. Review Management
Where review management is included in your service:
- We will monitor your profile for new reviews and respond professionally on your behalf.
- We aim to respond to new reviews within 2 business days of them appearing on your profile.
- Review responses are written in a professional tone representative of your business. You may provide us with brand voice guidance at any time.
- We will not post false, misleading, or guideline-violating responses. We reserve the right to decline to respond to a review if we believe doing so would breach Google's policies or be contrary to your interests.
- You may request to review and approve responses before they are posted. Please notify us of this preference in writing. Note that this may affect response turnaround times.
12. Intellectual Property
Any written content, descriptions, or creative assets we produce for your Google Business Profile — including business descriptions, service descriptions, post copy, review responses, and Q&A content — become your property upon full payment of all outstanding amounts. We retain the right to use anonymised or aggregated examples of our work in our own marketing materials unless you specifically request otherwise in writing.
13. Confidentiality
We treat all client information as confidential and will not disclose it to third parties without your consent, except as required by law or as necessary to deliver the services (for example, payment processing via Stripe). Any sub-contractors or third-party tools used in service delivery are subject to equivalent confidentiality obligations. This obligation survives termination of the agreement.
14. Data & Privacy
We collect and process personal data in connection with the delivery of our services. Our full Privacy Policy, available at localmarkers.co.uk/privacy-policy, sets out how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal data and your rights in relation to it.
By engaging our services you confirm you have read and understood our Privacy Policy.
15. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Local Markers' total liability for any claim arising from the provision of our services — whether in contract, tort, or otherwise — shall not exceed the total fees paid by you in the 12 months preceding the claim.
We shall not be liable for any indirect, consequential, special, or incidental loss, including but not limited to: loss of profits, loss of revenue, loss of business, loss of data, or loss of anticipated savings.
We shall not be liable for any loss or damage arising from:
- Google's platform decisions, algorithm changes, or suspension of your listing
- Inaccuracies in data returned by Google's API
- Your failure to fulfil your obligations under Section 6
- Third-party payment processing issues outside our control
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.
16. Termination for Breach
Either party may terminate the agreement immediately in writing if the other party:
- Commits a material breach of these Terms and fails to remedy it within 14 days of written notice
- Becomes insolvent, enters administration, or is subject to a winding-up order
In the event of termination for your breach, all outstanding invoices become immediately due and payable.
17. Complaints
If you are unhappy with our service, please contact us in the first instance at hello@localmarkers.co.uk. We are committed to resolving complaints promptly and fairly. We will acknowledge your complaint within 2 business days and aim to resolve it within 14 days.
18. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify active clients of material changes by email at least 30 days before they take effect. The "last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the current version. Continued use of our services after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
19. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
20. Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with any written service confirmation or invoice issued by us, constitute the entire agreement between the parties and supersede all prior discussions, representations, or agreements relating to the subject matter herein.
